To address these inconveniences, we recently performed a Q-ROIX set-top box installation for an Audi A6 owner, transforming their in-car experience.

The Q-ROIX set-top is far more than just a navigation device; it's a smart Android 8.0 OS-powered unit featuring a Hexa-core (6-core) CPU. Its primary advantage lies in its ability to integrate seamlessly with the original factory monitor. This means you retain the familiar aesthetics of your Audi A6's interior while unlocking a suite of modern functionalities. For the A6 specifically, the Q-ROIX is tuned to perfectly match the stock monitor's resolution (800x480), ensuring a visually cohesive and integrated look. It's a significant upgrade that the original system simply cannot offer.

Achieving Touchscreen Navigation in the Audi A6

The key to this transformation is the touch panel installation. A thin, transparent touch layer is applied over the original monitor, preserving the screen's clarity with minimal impact. This touch panel acts as the crucial link between the interface box and the Q-ROIX set-top unit.

Installation Process:

1. The trim panels surrounding the original monitor are carefully removed.
2. A precision-cut touch panel is adhered to the factory screen.

4. The Q-ROIX set-top box is discreetly hidden, typically within the dashboard's "glove box" or a dedicated cavity.

From the driver's perspective, activating the Q-ROIX system is simple: press and hold the original NAV button for about two seconds. This switches the display to the Q-ROIX interface, which is fully controllable via touch. This eliminates the need for the cumbersome rotary dial controls, offering a much more intuitive user experience. Importantly, this process maintains the integrity and stability of the vehicle's existing electronic systems, so there are no concerns about adverse side effects from the modification.

A standout feature of the Q-ROIX set-top is its built-in Atlant V5 map. Atlant V5 is a high-performance navigation application known for its frequent updates of Korean road data, providing accurate routing, especially for new roads and urban expressways. However, if Atlant V5 isn't sufficient, the Q-ROIX excels. By connecting to Wi-Fi, you can download a variety of other map applications from the app store, including T Map, Kakao Map, and Naver Map. This allows you to leverage the real-time traffic data and specific features of each app as needed – perhaps T Map for avoiding rush hour congestion or Kakao Map for searching for cafes and reading reviews. The flexibility is immense.

Beyond navigation, the Q-ROIX system unlocks a world of smart multimedia features. It supports streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, and TVING, allowing passengers to enjoy entertainment even while driving. A particularly useful function is PIP (Picture-in-Picture), enabling two apps to run simultaneously on the screen.
