Surround View Camera Calibration for Mercedes-Benz CLS 450

Following a minor collision, the owner of a Mercedes-Benz CLS 450 (2019-2020, pre-facelift) brought their vehicle to our workshop due to a misaligned front camera on the Surround View system. This essential feature provides a comprehensive bird's-eye view of the vehicle's surroundings, crucial for parking and navigating tight spaces. When the camera's position is even slightly disturbed by an impact, it can lead to distorted images, such as the front view appearing skewed or warped, as experienced by the CLS 450 owner. This distortion can be distracting and impair the driver's confidence. Fortunately, by connecting diagnostic tools and performing a brief test drive, we were able to recalibrate the camera system. The entire process took less than 30 minutes, and the post-calibration comparison clearly showed the elimination of the distortion, restoring a precise and accurate view. It's important to note that calibration is available for side cameras as well, so any perceived issues with the display should be addressed promptly.

In addition to the essential Surround View camera calibration, several coding enhancements were performed on the CLS 450 to unlock its full potential. • Seatbelt Warning Deactivation: Disabling the audible seatbelt warning chime for a less intrusive driving experience (note: this should be considered carefully due to safety implications).
