The Mercedes-Benz W222 S63 AMG is a marvel of automotive engineering, boasting incredible power and an exhilarating exhaust note. However, for many owners, the cabin's audio experience doesn't quite match the car's performance credentials. This particular S63 AMG owner sought to elevate the factory audio system, which lacked the impactful bass and clear sound reproduction expected in such a premium vehicle.

Upon inspection, it was evident that the factory EQ settings were pushed to extremes in an attempt to compensate for the system's shortcomings. Therefore, we undertook a complete rewire and secure mounting of all components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

1. Remove trunk lining and access factory amplifier location.
2. Carefully remove and organize existing subwoofer amplifier and wiring.
3. Securely mount the new Musway D8 DSP unit.
4. Install the DRC1 controller in an accessible location for the driver.
5. Connect all wiring, ensuring proper insulation and strain relief.

Precision Tuning for Optimal Sound

With the hardware meticulously installed, the critical phase of DSP tuning began. Using an RTA (Real-Time Analyzer), we measured the acoustic response within the S63 AMG's cabin. This allowed us to precisely address low-frequency nulls caused by the vehicle's structure, synchronize the arrival time of sound from each speaker (time alignment), and fine-tune the EQ for each frequency band. The result is a cohesive and immersive soundstage that complements the luxury of the S63 AMG.

The post-installation listening test confirmed the success of the upgrade. The customer reported a dramatic improvement in both the power and clarity of the sound, noting the elimination of listening fatigue.
