This Audi A5 recently visited our facility for a comprehensive reinstallation of its vinyl wrap and window tint. The owner had previously opted for a 3M Satin Black full wrap about four months prior, but unfortunately, a minor accident involving the rear fender necessitated a repair. Beyond the physical damage, the owner also expressed dissatisfaction with the existing window tint, citing poor visibility, especially during nighttime driving, and insufficient heat rejection. To address these concerns, a decision was made to not only repair the damaged wrap section but also to upgrade the entire window tint for both the front and side windows.

The Reinstallation Process

The process began with the meticulous removal of the old window tint. As films age, they can become brittle and difficult to remove without causing damage to the defroster lines. Our technicians carefully used steam to gently lift the old tint, ensuring a clean surface for the new film. This step is crucial for the longevity and aesthetic quality of the new tint application. Following the tint removal, the damaged rear fender section of the 3M Satin Black wrap was expertly replaced. For the window tint, we selected Smith Club Delta film. The front windshield was treated with 35% tint, while the side windows received a 15% tint. Smith Club Delta is a premium film known for its exceptional clarity and superior heat rejection capabilities. This upgrade significantly improves nighttime visibility, making driving safer, and effectively keeps the cabin cooler during hot weather. It's important to note that choosing the right tint darkness is vital; overly dark tints can impair vision and increase accident risk. The correct balance ensures both safety and comfort.

The transformation is striking. The Audi A5 now boasts significantly improved visibility thanks to the new Smith Club Delta tint, coupled with enhanced thermal comfort. The perfectly restored 3M Satin Black wrap makes the car look as if it just rolled off the factory floor.
