Many Tesla Model X owners choose protection services immediately after delivery. The Model X's paint thickness is generally less than that of traditional gasoline cars, and its distinctive falcon-wing doors, expansive hood, and large rear panels make it more susceptible to stone chips and minor damage. The Installation Process: Precision from Start to Finish

Upon arrival, the vehicle undergoes a thorough new car inspection. Before applying any film, it's crucial to remove contaminants like iron particles, dust, and grime accumulated during transit. If not removed, these can become trapped under the film, creating unsightly "bubbles" or "inclusions." The cleaning process involves washing, degreasing, and meticulous detailing.

This particular Model X had significant dirt buildup in panel gaps from its sea transport. Our technicians meticulously cleaned the vehicle, ensuring a perfect surface before proceeding. Given the large panel sizes, this initial cleaning stage is critical; even minor oversights can impact the final finish.

Installation Process:

1. Surface Preparation: Thorough washing, degreasing, and removal of all contaminants from the paint surface and panel gaps.
2. PPF Application: Precise application of pre-cut or custom-fit PPF panels, ensuring full coverage and proper adhesion, especially around edges and curves.
3. Finishing and Curing: Careful trimming, squeegeeing out any excess liquid, and allowing the film to cure properly to ensure maximum adhesion and clarity.

PPF is a transparent polyurethane film offering four key benefits: protection against stone chips and scratches, self-healing properties for minor abrasions, and resistance to contaminants. We utilize a "pre-cutting" technique, where film is slightly oversized and then precisely trimmed on the vehicle. While this uses more material, it results in a superior, cleaner finish with less visible edges.

Work began on the side doors and proceeded simultaneously from both sides of the car. Each section—rear doors, hood, fenders, trunk, and bumper—presents unique challenges. The hood, being the car's "face," requires meticulous finishing to ensure the edges are nearly invisible. Fenders are particularly prone to scratches from bags or clothing, demanding extra attention.

For black vehicles, where swirl marks are highly noticeable, the full PPF application provides immense satisfaction. After installation, the car can even go through an automatic car wash without fear of new scratches. The film's surface boasts superior water repellency, comparable to or exceeding that of ceramic coatings. However, this top layer isn't permanent; while high-grade films maintain their coating longer, it can degrade over time, leading to dust accumulation.
