Welcome to Today's Car. We recently completed a logo vinyl wrap for the Euler Academy's Hyundai Starex pickup vehicle. For academies, hospitals, and small businesses, a Hyundai Starex logo wrap is more than just decoration; it transforms your vehicle into a moving billboard, reaching thousands of people as you drive. This is especially effective for vehicles like pickup trucks that follow a regular route, ensuring consistent exposure within the same community. This case study details the logo wrap process and important considerations.

Precision in Placement and Surface Preparation

The most critical phase of any logo wrap is precise positioning. Even a slight misalignment can disrupt the overall aesthetic. Our team used a laser distance meter and spirit level to mark the exact center points for the logo on the front, left, and right sides of the Starex. Key reference points included the front bumper corners, door lines, and side panel edges. Before proceeding, we documented the vehicle's condition.

The longevity of the vinyl wrap hinges on thorough surface preparation. Without it, even high-adhesion film can lift or peel within months. We began by washing the vehicle exterior twice with detergent and water, ensuring all dirt and grime, especially in wheel wells and door jambs, were removed. After drying with a microfiber towel, we used an isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solution for degreasing. This process removes oils and microscopic dust, maximizing the film's adhesion.

Application and Finishing for a Flawless Look

The actual application involves carefully peeling the vinyl's backing and adhering it slowly and precisely. We employed a 'center-out' technique, starting from the middle and working towards the edges to prevent air bubbles. Due to the Hyundai Starex's curved body panels, the wrap was applied in sections—front door, middle door, rear door—with slight overlaps. Each section required careful squeegeeing to ensure a smooth, bubble-free finish. Maintaining consistent pressure without overstretching the vinyl is key.

Once the film was fully adhered, the excess material was trimmed. This requires extreme caution to avoid scratching the paint. We used a precision surface-safe cutter, designed to cut only the vinyl film by limiting blade depth. Our experienced technicians meticulously removed the excess material, ensuring the original paintwork remained completely protected. Finally, edges were heated with a heat gun (around 60-70°C) and tucked neatly into door jambs for a clean, durable finish.
